Monday, 20 JUN 2005, I checked the Bobolink field on Charlie Carson Rd. in Washington Co., TN. The field had just recently been harvested for hay, but the two male Bobolinks could be seen on the next fencerow to the west of their previously preferred fencerow. Also present were four American Kestrels in close proximity, including some juveniles. The next morning, Tuesday, I rechecked and saw one of the male Bobolinks and five Kestrels. Tuesday, 21 JUN 2005, I found two singing Dickcissels on the short section of P. Smith Rd. that lies in Greene Co., TN, near the end of Mae McKee Rd. The next day, Wednesday 22 JUN 2005, I continued further down P. Smith Rd. to Sandbar Rd. (Greene Co) where I saw many of the same species. I also enjoyed the spectacle of a male Summer Tanager chasing a Red-headed Woodpecker out of its tree. Then later in the day at Clyde Austin 4-H Center (Greene Co) I saw a female Summer Tanager Don Holt Johnson City, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
