Trimble area, Dyer Co.

What a great weather day to be working outside! Worked in and around Trimble
today and had a few spring firsts and other species of interest. At Gooch WMA
just north of Trimble I had:

Red-headed Woodpecker - 4
Great Crested Flycatcher - 2 (FOS)
Fish Crow - 10
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - lots
Yellow-throated Warbler - at least 6
Prothonotary Warbler - 5 (FOS)

In the town of Trimble I had my first Warbling Vireos of the Spring singing
away.

South of Trimble on Hwy. 105 at the Trimble Wastewater Lagoon I had:

Blue-winged Teal -12
Lesser Scaup - 1
Bufflehead - 1
Pied-billed Grebe - 1
American Coot - 2
Greater Yellowlegs - 2
Solitary Sandpiper - 8
Spotted Sandpiper - 1 (FOS)

Also just south of Trimble on the west side of Hwy. 51 an adult Bald Eagle was
sitting on the nest.

Good birding,
