Trimble area, Dyer Co. What a great weather day to be working outside! Worked in and around Trimble today and had a few spring firsts and other species of interest. At Gooch WMA just north of Trimble I had: Red-headed Woodpecker - 4 Great Crested Flycatcher - 2 (FOS) Fish Crow - 10 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - lots Yellow-throated Warbler - at least 6 Prothonotary Warbler - 5 (FOS) In the town of Trimble I had my first Warbling Vireos of the Spring singing away. South of Trimble on Hwy. 105 at the Trimble Wastewater Lagoon I had: Blue-winged Teal -12 Lesser Scaup - 1 Bufflehead - 1 Pied-billed Grebe - 1 American Coot - 2 Greater Yellowlegs - 2 Solitary Sandpiper - 8 Spotted Sandpiper - 1 (FOS) Also just south of Trimble on the west side of Hwy. 51 an adult Bald Eagle was sitting on the nest.
