TN-birders,

Dollyann & I went out to the Eagle Bend fish hatchery in Anderson County this
afternoon to see if anything unusual was left over after last night’s weather
event. We really didn’t have too much out of the ordinary until we got to the
upper pond, which is nearly drained now. At the southwest end of this pond,
there is an area that has some damp moss and mud. We had 2 Least Sandpipers
there Saturday, but those 2 birds had disappeared by yesterday morning. Today
though we found another Least Sandpiper and it was accompanied by a winter
plumaged DUNLIN.

This was our latest record here ever. Our previous latest record here for
Dunlin was November 11, 2003. Not much else around but we have been having a
female American Kestrel hanging around for the past several weeks.

Great birding,

Ron Hoff & Dollyann Myers
Clinton, TN
