Jamin and I hiked in to upper pool 1 from Refuge Road tonight after work
and didn’t have much in the line of swallows (4 individuals) but we did
have 450 shorebirds in 12 species, including increasing numbers of Least
(100) and Semipalmated Sandpipers (25) and Semipalmated Plovers, (7)
continuing Stilt Sandpipers (10) and Short Billed Dowitchers (2) as well as
recently arrived AMERICAN AVOCETS (3, which soon headed South) and BAIRD’S
SANDPIPERS (2 adults) that dropped in just before dark.
The complete list is on eBird.
