After an enjoyable 5 warbler morning (common yellowthroat, black-and-white,
worm-eating, yellow-throated, and northern parula)
in our backyard this morning while drinking coffee on our screen porch, we
noticed the yellow-throated and northern parula chasing
the "feeder birds" around. The yellow-throated only did this twice, but as I
write this, both male and female parula are still exibiting
this behavior, even knocking northern cardinals off the feeder and surrounding
perches. Anyone have thoughts on this behavior?
Yesterday I mowed our back lawn (long overdue), and the insects that were
displaced have really brought in the birds.
I highly recommend trying this as the fall migrants start to show up.
Great birding!
