Park Ranger Paul Schauer found a juvenile Little Blue Heron at Radnor Lake this
My husband and I went to go and check it out and it flew from the "cormorant
peninsula" back into the "middle cove" area, where it was first chased by a
Great Blue Heron. Then later the Great Blue Heron was foraging right next to
While looking from Otter Creek Road, across to the cove, we also saw a
Yellow-billed Cuckoo pair copulating. The male was offering the female a
katydid during the copulation.
We don't know if it was the overcast morning, that produced an amazing wildlife
Barred Owlet foraging lakeside.
Five or six River Otters eating fish with a Raccoon within feet from the otters
trying to get fish scraps. A Great Blue was also watching the otters, and a
Kingfisher dove next to the otters too.
Next we heard some mobbing by Titmice and found them mobbing a Watersnake
resting in a nest.
The piebald twin fawn was in the same spot as yesterday near Bench #9.
When we went out to see the Little Blue Heron, with the overcast skies, the
cicadas were quiet too.
Happy birding,~~Ann Inouye
