Subject: [TN-Bird] Crossbills

Does anyone know if Red Crossbills eat thistle seed? I just had a reddish
bird and an obvious female version of it(grayish with a bright yellowish
rump) on my thistle sock feeder for almost 30mins in the rain. They were
about 5 feet too far for my binocs to get a good look at the bills. This
would be a lifer for me....

Thanks,

My life Red Crossbills were on a thistle feeder in Ithaca, NY. In the rain,
come to think of it.
