There are now more than 60,000 Sandhill Cranes in the species' eastern
population, and several thousand of those spend the winter in Tennessee. The
critically endangered Whooping Crane is inching its way back from the brink of
extinction, and each year several members of the eastern flock can found in our
state. Learn more about these charismatic birds as Melinda Welton delivers her
lecture, The Cranes of Tennessee: Sandhills and Whoopers, next Wed., Nov. 16 at
6 P.M. at Bells Bend Outdoor Center. This promises to be an informative and
popular program so please call to register and reserve your spot.
