After striking out on Long-Tailed Duck again at Concord Marina in W. Knoxville, I headed to Cove Lake (Campbell Co.) to look for Common Merganser, which would be a new one for me. No luck on that one either but I had some nice birds there today with snow falling. Here are a few. main channel area: Gadwall - 64+ Ruddy Duck - 5 (4 male) Hooded Merganser - 1 female Bald Eagle - 1 adult Hermit Thrush - 1 (picnic tables) White-Throated Sparrow - several (picnic tables) campground/shelters area: Gadwall - 12 Pine Siskin - 2 (cedars) Golden-Crowned Kinglet - 2 (cedars) I also spotted a probable flock of Pine Siskins over I-75 near the Jacksboro exit. They were small w/ light coloration(seemed yellow) at the base of the tail. Shane Williams - Knoxville,TN _____________________________________________________________ Netscape.
