It was a lovely fall day for birding along the lake at Cove Lake State Park in
Campbell County today. The Gadwalls and Coots have arrived and Yellow-rumped
Warblers were everywhere. I had two close looks at my first Brown Creeper of
the fall in the area around the last parking lot and it was interesting to
compare a Song Sparrow and a Swamp Sparrow perched just inches apart in the
marshy area near the little bridge.
