Another contender for TN's northern-most Brown-headed Nuthatch would be the Apr 2008 nesting record from Fentress Co. It was reported on Oby Blevins Rd. I don't know what part of Fentress Co that is. A few years ago Ed Manus and I had at Brown-headed Nuthatch at Anderson County Park during the Christmas Bird Count. This park is at the north end of a peninsula jutting into Norris Lake. The opposite, north side of the lake is Campbell County. I thought at that time that it was a candidate for the northern-most state record. I studied maps today and Cove Lake is a couple miles north of the site where the nuthatch was observed on the Norris CBC. Chuck Nicholson Norris, TN
