Randy Winstead and Mike Nelson are a bit unsure as to whether the bird was a
Yellow Crowned or Black Crowned Night Heron as those two Herons are very
similar in the immature stage.

Here are two different views of the bird. Maybe that will clear up the
matter. Bird was 100 yards distant in the photos which accounts for the
lousy image which were made with a Nikon DSLR equipped with a 500 mm lens.
