Hello All,

I have not commented because I tried to stay out of political commentary on
a birding mailing list, and the flaming I will not doubt I will receive.
Even though I agree that the Migratory Bird Treaty Act should stay in
enforcement but you must look as to why there is a controversy in the first
place. Nobody opposes this treaty if enforced fairly and correctly, The
Obama administration has use what it sees at "it's" justice department to
selectively enforce laws, so "green energy" companies can kill all the
birds they want but oil companies are being constantly harnessed and
investigated.

The issue here is the justice department and not the amendment, if the
justice department enforced laws correctly this amendment would not have
been presented in the first place.

I noted that as well. I hate using reign in that context. It's definitely
"rein" as in horse.

Dear Ms. Phillips,

Thank you for taking the time to contact my office to share your concerns
about the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Your opinion is important to me, and I
appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts.

The preservation of wildlife and the environment is very important to me.
I believe we as elected officials have the responsibility of enacting
legislation that protects our abundant natural resources for future
generations to enjoy. While it is necessary that we* reign* in spending
and work to balance the budget, we must make sure that this is not done to
the detriment of our natural resources. As we go through the appropriations
process, I will certainly take into consideration your concerns about our
natural resources and programs that encourage ecosystem restoration.

Thank you again for your letter. I hope you will continue to share your
thoughts with me.
Sincerely,

Bob Corker
