At about 9:15 this morning, I heard a Connecticut Warbler sing at least 30
times toward the east end of the Lake Trail. It was in a very thick area of
saplings and high grass about 30 yards from the trail, with the lake in
sight behind it. I was never able to spot it. If you go over the bridge at
the east end of the lake, go past the first major turn to the left, and it
was at the next major turn to the right, on the lake side of the trail.
There's a huge dead tree trunk on the ground next to the trail. The only
other non-breeders I had at the east part of the park were two Swainson's
Thrushes and a Philadelphia Vireo. Kentucky Warbler, Parula, and Louisiana
Waterthrush were at the east bridge, along with a Barred Owl.
