Kinser Park (KP), Paint Creek Recreation Area (PCRA), and other sites in
Greene County

In about three hours' birding time this morning in Greeneville, at KP,
and at PCRA and vicinity, I found the following:

Yellow-billed Cuckoo (3);
Ruby-throated Hummingbird;
Eastern Wood-Pewee (2);
Acadian Flycatcher (4 PCRA and vicinity);
Great Crested Flycatcher (4);
Eastern Kingbird (7);
Swainson's Thrush (Greeneville);
White-eyed Vireo (2);
Red-eyed Vireo (20);
Northern Parula (2);
Yellow Warbler;
Cape May Warbler (Greeneville);
Yellow-rumped Warbler;
Black-throated Green Warbler (3);
Blackburnian Warbler (Greeneville);
Pine Warbler (2);
Blackpoll Warbler (4 Greeneville);
Black-and-white Warbler (2);
American Redstart;
Prothonotary warbler (6 KP);
Worm-eating Warbler (2 vicinity of PCRA);
Ovenbird;
Northern Waterthrush (KP);
Louisiana Waterthrush (PCRA);
Connecticut Warbler (KP);
Common Yellowthroat (8);
Hooded Warbler;
Wilson's Warbler (KP);
Yellow-breasted Chat (3);
Scarlet Tanager (2);
Rose-breasted Grosbeak;
Blue Grosbeak (4);
Indigo Bunting (38);
Orchard Oriole (2).

The Connecticut Warbler, Wilson's Warbler, and Northern Waterthrush were
just inside the bottomland woods below the picnic pavilion on the boat
ramp access road at KP, along with one Prothonotary Warbler and one
Common Yellowthroat. This is an area that is good for wintering Winter
Wrens, and unfortunately I have seldom checked it in spring. After
today's outing, you can bet that will change . . . .
