Late yesterday morning (11/15/17) I observed a Common Raven in the Obed
Wild and Scenic River, Morgan County. I clearly heard several distinctive
Raven calls, but did not see the bird. The bird was near the end of the
Point Trail, southeast of Lilly Bridge, very close to the junction of the
Obed River and Clear Creek. This appears to be the first record of a Raven
at the Obed. There are a handful of Raven records from Frozen Head, several
miles to the east.
I had few other birds of note during my late morning/early afternoon hike.
Songbirds were scarce and the most numerous birds I observed were crows and
Turkey Vultures.
