June 16, 2006 6:25am Belmont University Area Nashville, TN Davidson County Birders, This morning I had my first of this year Common Nighthawk flying overhead. Last year, I had the good luck of observing hundreds of nighthawks flying in circles, I am hoping for it happen again. Its a spectacular sight. (This is slightly off topic) On another note, when biking on otter creek road (Radnor Lake, Davidson county, Nashville, TN) towards franklin road, I noticed heavy construction in progress. These people have taken over a significant portion of wildlife habitat. Not only that, they leave a lot of dirt on the road which is a clear hazard for motorists and bicyclists. Its very sad that this is happening so close to the state park. I couldn't help writing about this.
