On May 1, I found a pair of adult Common Mergansers on the Middle Prong of the
Little Pigeon River in Pittman Center TN along the Copeland Farm section of the
river.The pair that has been in the general area the last few years have
usually bred by now, the male gone, and the female incubating. No way to know
if this is the same pair, but they are definitely paired. The entire time I
watched them the male kept watch on me while the female was fishing.Keith
