April 17, 2006; 1:00-5:00 PM We swung by the CSI chemical plant, at the corner of Industrial Rd. and Chemwod Drive, to look at an OSPREY NEST we'd heard about last week. Sure enough, it covered the top of a tower next to a settling pond, with an osprey peering back at us. It's located about 1/4 mile from the Pigeon River & is active nest #6 in Cocke county for 2007. We spotted about 40 CHIMNEY SWIFTS above a corn stubble field around the corner from the nest.
