Ruben and I spent the day birding along the Mississippi River in
Lauderdale, Dyer, and Lake Counties. We met Mike Todd and Mark Greene on
Chic Road where the Cinnamon Teal found by Tim Jones in the morning
continued. Also a conservative count of 1500 Long-billed Dowitchers, 2
Wilson’s Phalaropes, and both Black-bellied and American Golden Plovers and
a Peregrine Falcon were seen here. With the 875 Dowitchers at the Hwy 88
Bottoms Ruff spot and others scattered around we had over 2400 for the
day! A Willet in Robinson Bayou made 15 species of Shorebirds.
