Since we're off-topic (sort of), here's a great website for cicada information. You can report sightings of the 17-year Cicadas to a National Geographic Society sponsored study to map out the range of this brood and help detect any changes in the population. Two broods of periodic cicadas are known to have gone extinct. Also, note that there are actually 4 species of 17-year Cicadas which can be identified by their call. The website has audio files that you can listen to online to help ID the different species. If you mine into the website a little bit, you will also find similar pages for the annual cicadas. I'm up to about 10-12 species for my cicada yardlist, all annual species... none of the 17-year or the 13-year brood from a few years ago.
