[TN-Bird] Chimney Swift mother-load in Nashville

Monday night John Noel and I went to investigate the tall chimney at the old
state prison on North Centennial Blvd, just off Briely Parkway.

When we arrived shortly after sunset, we found a huge swirl of swifts flying
over the chimney. The guard wouldn't let us onto the prison grounds but let
us set up our scope just before the guardhouse. It was a bit difficult to
count the birds as they went into the chimney because of the security lights
and distance, but there were over 10,000 birds! We're going out again
tonight to try and get a another count.
