[TN-Bird] Chattanooga RBA #2

You have reached Kevin Calhoon with the Chattanooga RBA, sponsored by the
Chattanooga Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society.
This is Update Number #2 made on January 18, 2003.
The WESTERN GREBE was seen above Nickajack Dam again on January 11,
but not seen on the 12th despite thorough searching.
From exit 161 on I-24, proceed approx. 3.3 miles on TN156 in a southwesterly
direction until you reach the lakes edge at a small pullover adjacent to a
RR
track. The bird was observed straight out from the tracks and between two
large rock piles near the river channel. TN 156 is on the south side of the
lake and in Marion County.
One dark-phase ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen at the usual location off Nine
Mile Crossroad near its intersection with East Valley Road in Bledsoe county

A flock of blackbirds which contained some BREWER'S was seen at the Johnson
farm off East Valley road in Sequtchie co. on January 11. (Dan Jacobson)
A male Common Yellowthroat was seen at Standifer Gap Marsh on January 13.

7 Palm Warblers were seen at the Brainerd Levee on January 13.
Two possible Least Sandpipers were seen at the Brainerd Levee in the last

The next general meeting of the Chattanooga TOS will be on February 13 at
7:00
PM at the Accension Luthern Church 720 South Germantown Road.
