Two SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHERS were seen near the Lodge Manufacturing Plant off East Sixth Street in South Pittsburgh, Marion, co TN on May 3 and three were seen on May 4. (Dennis and Gwen Harris, Dan Jacobson, John Henderson) Apparently there is at least one female, one male and third bird's gender is in question. The birds are building a nest among the hardware on a power pole near the main entrance. They had been seen there by factory personnel starting a couple of days earlier than their discovery on April 27. (Elijah Cavett, Doug Geren) A SWAINSON'S WARBLER was heard along highway 41 in Marion co. a couple miles west of the Raccoon Mountain turnoff on May 4. The bird sang several times and then moved on. A Prothonothory and Yellow-throated Warblers were also heard at this location. Sixteen species of warblers were seen at my residence and the neighboring yards including: Black-throated Blue, 5 Blackburnians, 1 Cerluean, 1 Magnolia, 3 Tennessee, 3 Ovenbird, 2 Bay-breasted, 7 Blackpoll, 7 Cape May. On May 5 at Nickjack Dam in Marion co. an adult Herring Gull and 3 Forster's Terns were on the bouys above the dam. (Kevin Calhoon) Two Cattle Egrets were reported from the entrance of Sequoyah nuclear power plant on May 5.
