Chuck Wills Widows eventually cooperated for 20 Chattanooga TOS members who
opted for an evening visit to the Chickamauga Chattanooga Military Park
rather than Riverbend. We started early enough to locate among others:
Summer Tanagers, Red Headed, Red bellied and Pileated Woodpeckers, Blue Gray
Gnatcatchers, Wood Thrush, Chipping Sparrow, Towhee, Blue birds, and Eastern
Kingbirds. As we leaving, we heard several Chucks (some quite close) and
were serenaded by a rather large pack of Coyotes. It was a lovely evening to
visit the park and enjoy the scenery and the wildlife. As the park prepares
for the big 150 next year, its recently refurbished monuments are looking
terrific! Thanks to all who attended and to the Chuck Wills for their
enthusiastic participation.
