Regarding my previous post on Public Hearings and Cerulean Warblers, I stupidly
omitted the following information:
For those unable to attend one of the three public hearings on the State of
Tennesseeâ??s petition to protect over 500 miles of mountain ridgelines in the
northern Cumberland Plateau from mountaintop removal coal mining, you can still
send a comment to the Office of Surface Mining (OSM). Written comments may be
mailed, e-mailed or hand delivered to the OSM office in Knoxville no later than
5:00 PM on April 14, 2011. The e-mail address to post comments is:
http://TNLUM@xxxxxxxxxx The mailing address is: Attention: LUM Petition
Administration Officer; Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement,
710 Locust Street, Second Floor, Knoxville, Tennessee 37901.
Copies of the petition and map are available via the internet at:
http://tngov/environment/lumpetition.shtml. Copies are also available upon
request from the OSM office in Knoxville, at the above address.
