If you know of a pasture with cattle near Old Hickory Dam, and you're down
that way this weekend keep your eyes peeled for cattle egret. I am 95%
certain one was on the far bank of the slough near the point just southwest
of the tip of the peninsula this morning about 10:15. It flew around the
point and up the lake before I could get my scope on it, but I would bet
Stephen Zipperer's binoculars it was a CAEG.
If someone spots them, please post it here or on eBird. I would like to get
a good look at one here in middle Tennessee.
