Most of the morning, I have had a male Cape May Warbler just outside my back door. Beginning @6:00 I heard his high-pitched song through the kitchen window. I stepped outside with binoculars in hand; it did not take me long to locate him. He was flitting about in an American Holly Tree just off my deck. He has been there off and on most of the morning. I just now observed him feeding in the small white flowers of the Holly Tree, getting the nectar. He drinks/eats, sings, flits about, and then starts all over again. He has been at eye level and just above this, affording the best looks I have had of a Cape May. My usual bird activity with this tree is American Robins making a mess of the berries in late fall. Today this tree really paid off, however. Kevin Bowden Nashville-Davidson Co.
