My territory on the Duck River CBC yesterday included Camden WMA, located immediately west of the Tennessee River straddling Highway 70 in Benton County. I had never birded this area before. In spite of the weather, I found large numbers of sparrows in the abundant wet brushy areas. My Swamp Sparrow count of 246 blew the previous eBird high count for Tennessee (142) totally out of the water. My review copy of the new annotated checklist lists the state high counts as 1036 and 503, but both of these are CBC totals (i.e. not single party counts) so it's kind of apples and oranges.
