I spent about 20 minutes at the Cades Cove sewerage pond in Great Smoky
Mountains National Park this morning. There were approximately 10 Mallards,
15
Canada geese, 75 Bufflehead and one winter plumage Common goldeneye all on the
larger pond. I also saw 11 wild turkeys feeding amongst the horses, heard 3
Pileated woodpeckers and a Barred owl.

With the Ruffed grouse on the Foothills Parkway I have finally reach 100
year birds for Blount County.
