The Cades Cove CBC was held on Wednesday, December 31, 2005. There were 13 participants in 6 parties. The weather was unseasonably warm. It was very windy in the morning with rain beginnning around 1:00. Most participants stopped around 2:00. Due to the weather, numbers for many species were low. A high count of Bufflehead was recorded, but many species were missed such as Wild Turkey, American Coot, Killdeer, Cedar Waxwing, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Eastern Meadowlark, and Red Crossbill.
