Good Afternoon,
Here in the Charlotte Park area of West Nashville, birding has been a bit
unique again today.

This morning, a lovely brown thrasher flew into one of my hackberry trees "on
its way to somewhere" toward the southeast. It MAY be the first brown
thrasher I have ever had here, but I cannot check. I still have not found my
yard
list chart which had been on my kitchen wall before the HASMAT team sanitized
my house after my illness in 2006-07.

Also, when the peanut butter was gone from its place outside, my Carolina
wren took action by flying up to the French door where it clung to a small
"pane-frame" and pecked at the glass. When I went out with more PB, it went
right
for it. I guess it "took lessons" from the mockingbirds who come to the door
all the time to beg when the PB has run out.

SIX Eurasian-collared doves are hanging around today. At least one pair have
completed their mating rituals several times during the past two days. I
think I have one pair, one adult loner and three offspring. I had three adults
for a long time after a fourth disappeared, then all of a sudden, three more
birds appeared which I took to be POSSIBLE products of a nesting. I am only
speculating, however. With all the romancing that has been going on, I sort of
anticipate more later this summer. They sure do scarf down the bird seed, and
are here from early until about 5 PM daily.

Jolly good birding to all.

Dee Thompson
