Our field trip today was fun and well attended. Some our best sightings were: 6 American Pipits, 100+ Rusty Blackbirds, 8 American Black Ducks, Taiga race MERLIN, Wilson's Snipe and our FOY Northern Rough-winged Swallow. We observed close to 50 species. Thanks to all those who attended. After birding the levee, we went to Standifer Gap Marsh and heard 2 Virginia Rails calling as well as Fish Crows. Winter Wren was near the graveled road. Marsh Wren scolded some at a distance. Sparrows for the day included: Savannah, Swamp, Song, White-throated, and Field Sparrow.
