This morning I had a singing Blue-headed Vireo at Cheatham WMA (Cheatham Co). First one I've detected this spring. Last Thursday I relocated the Eared Grebe I'd previously seen at Cook Public Rec area on Percy Priest Lake. I assume it is the same bird that was frequenting the Anderson Rd rec area over the last month or two. The grebe was see from the southern picnic area in the day use area that is currently gated. You can park and walk anywhere you want out there when the gates are closed. Other birds included few gulls other than a bunch of Bonaparte's Gulls and Am. Coots. Pleasant afternoon/evening for a hike. Good birding, Scott Somershoe State Ornithologist Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency P.O.
