My son Daniel and I birded Standifer Gap Marsh in Chattanooga this morning. We
tallied 45 species including a Virginia Rail (heard "Grunt Call"), two Soras
(saw) and a very unusual B-G Gnatcatcher. This appears to be one of only a few
gnatcatcher reports in Dec. in TN in the last 10 years. I will post photos
with my eBird checklist.
BTW, if you plan on birding that location, be VERY attentive to where you
drive. It's very muddy and we got stuck.
