This is out of my own review territory, but I can say that in general most reports like these turn out to be novice misunderstandings, especially when (like this one) it is from a new user who just created an account so they could report one wildly out-of-range bird. I notice that the record has in fact already been invalidated by the east TN reviewer.

Of course if we did have a real Blue Mockingbird here, we'd be deep in questions of origin...

I just saw this from ebird!!! Could it be true and can anyone confirm this? OR is it likely an escapee?

Blue Mockingbird (Melanotis caerulescens) (1)
- Reported Jun 03, 2013 by Natasha Roney
- Fountain City Library, Knox, Tennessee
- Map: http://maps.google.com/? ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=36.0369625,-83.9276612&ll=36.0369625,-83.9276612
- Checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S14332846
- Comments: "Mockingbird/thrush size. Slate blue w/black mask. Held tail erect and hopped on ground around bushes. Distinct mockingbird- type behavior. When researched, looked exactly like photos and descriptions of Blue Mockingbird, despite being out of range. No other possibilities found." Can anyone confirm this identification? I'm sure thousands of birders will want to see something like this
