Today while doing a GBBC in the Louisville area of Blount County, I had 6
White-fronted geese among 52 Canada geese near the entrance gate of Scenic
Point on Lowe's Ferry Road. Lots of water on Hitch Pond with 8
Ringed-necks, 4 Bufflehead, 2 Redheads, 49 Gadwall and 32 Mallards. Yesterday
were also 2 Wood ducks but I couldn't find any today.
On Phelp's Pond two Great blue herons were settled into nests. No herons
were seen standing on any nests there or on the rookeries on Lillard Lane,
Louisville Marina or Louisville Point Park I suspect because of today's
strong winds.
