12-7-05 Phillip Casteel and I saw the Black-throated Sparrow (Lincoln Co.) this morning about 8:45 in its usual place by the here sign. Then it flew left a little ways and landed in a couple other brush piles. It was refound by the here sign by Carol Wolf about 1/2 hour later and we watched it as it foraged on the ground. Also seen or heard were lots of pipits, longspurs, and Horned Larks. We also saw 4 Whooping Cranes at the lake in Winchester (Franklin Co.). Two were out in the water, and the other two with 18 Sandhill Cranes along the near shoreline.
