During a 4.4 mile walk between 8:30 am and 10:30 am, I encountered my FOY Black
and White Warbler. I got a great look along with vocals. Also had 7 Tennessee
Warblers after seeing only one earlier this week. Only 2 Black-throated Green
Warblers today. Other notable birds included 6 male Indigo Buntings, 4 male and
1 female Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
It was quite windy, and the Chimney Swifts were out in force. I included 11 on
my eBird Checklist, but this was just an estimate, and it could have been a lot
more than that. I was surprised to see a single Black Vulture soaring at a
great height along with 2 Red-tailed Hawks. First bird on my checklist was a
Ruby-throated Hummingbird that was at my feeder before I walked out the door.
Only 29 taxa reported on eBird checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S67782160 ;
<https://ebird.org/checklist/S67782160> I had a short route that omitted some
of the most productive areas of the neighborhood, thus missing a number of
species I have been seeing fairly regularly.
