I stopped by a pond in Leiper's Fork today and luckily crossed paths with a
BLACK TERN that made a very quick stop there. It flew around the pond a
couple of times while getting harassed by Purple Martins, then flew right
over my head as it departed the area. This is a new species for Williamson
County on eBird. No doubt they pass through somewhat regularly (annually?),
but there is not much in the way of habitat that would make them stick
around long enough to be seen.
