From Damien Simbeck (please contact him directly rather than replying
to me, thanks!):

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is currently working to improve
wildlife habitat and user accessibility at a tract of land on Tims
Ford Reservoir locally known as Jolly's Rock (south shore of the
reservoir, directly across from Tims Ford State Park). The tract
consists of about one hundred acres of mature hardwood forest, five
fields currently being converted to native prairie grasses (managed by
prescribed burns) and another field to be planted as a short-leaf pine
stand. This site has easy public access and the abandoned county
roads on the property make great walking trails. Two roads end at the
reservoir, one with a great overlook. We would like to introduce this
property to the birding community this coming weekend (National Public
Lands Day) by leading a birding walk through the property. The walk
is fairly easy, and will be about 2-3 miles total length. I will be
leading the walk, and will meet participants at the site's parking
area at 7:00 Saturday morning. The site is located at the northern
end of Young (Burt) Lane, off Hwy. 50, west of Winchester. A Google
maps link is provided below. We will let bird activity determine how
long we stay in the area, but will probably finish the walk before
lunch. Bottle water will be provided at the end of the walk.
Although you do not have to contact me before the trip, an email
(tnbarredowl@xxxxxxx or djsimbeck@xxxxxxx) letting me know you plan to
attend will help me make preparations.
