The Baird's Sandpiper reported by Frank Fekel this morning was still present at
the sod farm (at the same location as described by Frank) as of 12:00 noon
today. Nothing much else other than Killdeer.

Bells Bend Sod Farm
Old Hickory Blvd
Davidson Co., TN
2015 Sept. 11
7:05-7:50am

I got up early this Friday morning and headed out early to
the
Bells Bend Sod Farm near the end of Old Hickory Blvd. As
luck
would have it, my early start enabled me to miss a serious
auto
accident on I-40 that would have substantially delayed me.
I'd been at the sod farm a couple times earlier in the week
and
the only "shorebird" that I found was the usual flock of
Killdeer.
However, this time I spotted a distant peep in the center of
the
field in front of the major irrigation pipe, that turned out
to
be a BAIRD'S SANDPIPER. It spent much of its time feeding in
the
low grass and at times was able to disappear in it. A
LESSER
YELLOWLEGS also flew in briefly.

Stopped at the marsh after the sod farm and found 1 LESSER
YELLOWLEGS
and 1 SOLITARY SANDPIPER plus plenty of KILLDEER.
