With the cessation of the rain I went to Bells Bend this morning
looking for the HARRIS'S SPARROW that I'd missed completely in
February despite searching for it a number of times. It was found
with its usual company of WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW cousins feeding
on the hay bales on the south side of the road, perhaps 0.2 miles
before you reach the 2 gray buildings that are closer to the sod
farm. Some of its face appears to be starting to change from
winter tan to breeding silver gray.
