Bells Bend area Davidson Co., Tennessee 2012 Nov. 3 Went to Bells Bend this Saturday morning to look for sparrows and pipits. The latter birds were found out there last weekend by Phillip Casteel. A walk through part of Bells Bend Park resulted in a single LINCOLN'S SPARROW and plenty of WHITE-CROWNED and FOX SPARROWs. At the last sod farm field on the left as you reach the river, I found a flock of 45 AMERICAN PIPITs in the stripped sod part of the field toward the back that is now dirt and bits of new grass. During the half hour I watched them (about 10 am) they got up and resettled about 5 or 6 times, eventually coming close enough so that I got reasonably good scope views.
