KY Lake (Henry Co)
I made a very quick run around my usual circuit. Though the lake is below
356.0,
the mudflats aren't extensive yet. I didn't really spend any time working for
passerines, with Wilson's Warbler and singing Blue-headed Vireo being the
highlights.

Highlights were:

Eagle Creek mouth (Bull Durham Rd): a sinlge Buff-breasted Sandpiper was
working
the grassy flats with a few Pectoral Sandpipers.

Paris Landing: the island is well out, and every inch of it practically
was covered. 50+ Herring Gulls with the 300+ Ring-billed Gulls were good
numbers
this early, with one 2nd-cycle Laughing Gull in the mix. Only terns were
numerous Caspians.

Big Sandy River mouth area: a few small flocks of shorebirds scattered about,
mostly Least and Pectoral. A single Baird's was seen amongst a small group that
was having a hard time picking out a suitable spot to land. A Long-billed
Dowitcher in full basic plumage was with a group of resting Pectorals. A few
Black Terns were working there way up the Big Sandy Reach.

Pace Point: Lots of gulls here too, almost all Ring-billed. A single juvenile
Laughing molting into 1st-basic was here as well. Once again, only Caspian
Terns.

I had to send my good camera back to Canon for some repair work, so didn't
attempt much photography (enough to be amazed I ever got any decent shots
before
I got it), but I did post one digiscoped shot of the young Laughing Gull from
Pace Point.  http://www.pbase.com/mctodd/image/128608930/original

Good Birding!!
