Stan Wallace and I birded around this pond this afternoon for a while, and ran into Carol Golbert also. We saw mostly Canada Geese (lots of them!), but also: American Black Duck - Mallard hybrid (1 male, 1 female) Ring Necked Duck - 1 No sign of the Ross's Goose - darn it! Then down around the Cove Park on Northshore: 3 Horned Grebes 75-80 Bonaparte Gulls A few Ring Billed Gulls Great Blue Herons - 2 American Coots - 20-30 Galag Barnyard Goose - 2 + one probably a hybrid of this and something else ??? Stopping on Northshore at a couple of good thickets, there were plenty of small flocks of Cedar Waxwings, a few yellow rumped warblers, and other usual suspects. Beautiful day for playing hookey!
