Just as church services ended today we had a sudden rainstorm and as we
got back to the house we had a first-time birding experience. In a
treetop at the south end of our yard were two Eastern Kingbirds enjoying
the showers as they spread their wings and stretched and preened. They
continued their enthusiastic bath time for almost 15 minutes. We'd never
seen this behavior from Eastern Kingbirds before and it was as
delightful to us as it obviously was to them.
