[TN-Bird] Bat report

Strictly speaking, this is not an ornithological question, but  it's close.  
This afternoon, around 3:00, I saw a bat flying over the hills  near Radnor 
Lake.  Would this be a hibernating bat that came out because of  the wild 
weather?  Or a migrating bat that missed the train  south?  How many Tennessee 
bats 
decide to hibernate rather than  migrate?
 
Pardon my ignorance of bats.
