The following active nests are in the Knoxville area.
1. Lenoir City on Watts Bar with two eaglets now nine weeks old. Loudon Co.
2. Windy Hill Farm off PoplarSprings  Road, Loudon Co.No sighting of eaglets
yet because of nest location on hill in oak tree.Scope views will soon divulge
eaglet number.
3.Nest in pine tree at K-25 in Roane Co. across Poplar Creek from pond K1001
spillway on Burchfield Rd./Perimiter Road.So far only adults visible in nest
area. Soon scope viewing will divulge offspring number. Thank you Chuck Estes
for showing this nest.
4 The Rockford nest ,in Blount Co.,in a Loblolly Pine tree on top of a hill
,viewed through a scope when standing in front of Sweet Pea Restaurant, while
looking across Stock Creek.where it is crossed by Old Maryville Pike.Ben Mooney
of Maryville is monitoring this one.
5.Nest in oak tree ,easily viewed from the right hand end of Super Kroger in
Sevierville, off Hwy. 66. Three expensive looking signs teach the viewing
public how to act in the presence of these magnificent birds.! On 4-12-13 we
witnessed adult sitting in nest possibly shielding eaglets.
6.Nest in Knox Co.on French Broad River, on private property, reported by Lyn
and Bob Davis of Seymour. At this time no feeling for nest success.
7. Seven Islands WMA. also Knox Co. No positive reports of nest success this
year due to lack of access to private property downstream from the WMA.where
Eagles have previously nested.

In another month , let the Eaglet count begin !!
Bird on !
