Speaking of Brown-headed Nuthatches... I had four at Kingston Steam Plant in Roane Co. on Monday. They're still hanging around in that small patch of pines along the road to the boat ramp. Not a lot there, was hoping for some late shorebirds but could only find 2 Least and 1 Semipalmated Sandpipers and three young Ring-billed Gulls. At least four N. Bobwhite were calling the whole time I was at the settling ponds and I flushed one female along the upper dike road. Only heard one Grasshopper Sparrow, missed Willow Flycatcher. Did have Yellow Warbler, Blue Grosbeak, Pine Warbler, Orchard Oriole, and a couple of Osprey.
